ScamExposed offers independent, educational scam-awareness guidance. How it works

Social Media Scams

Recognise impersonation, hacked-account, giveaway and investment patterns across social platforms without assuming a profile is genuine.

Profiles can look real before they are verified

Scammers may copy a friend, business, influencer or public figure, use stolen photos, purchase followers, or take over a real account. A familiar profile photo, follower count or direct message is not enough to establish identity.

Look beyond the profile surface

Check for sudden changes in tone, new payment requests, little original engagement, pressure to move to another app, and links that do not match the claimed organisation. Contact a known person through a separate, trusted channel if a request seems unusual.

Guided, not live platform verification

The Social Media Profile checker uses information you supply and a guided questionnaire. It does not access the platform or verify an account. Report suspected impostors to the platform and preserve relevant messages or profile links.
