ScamExposed offers independent, educational scam-awareness guidance. How it works

Report & Recover

If you think you have been scammed, act quickly to reduce further loss. ScamExposed provides guidance only and does not receive reports, investigate fraud or recover money.

1. Stop further contact and payment

Do not send more money, codes, documents or remote access. Do not pay a person who says they can recover money for a fee. Recovery scams commonly target people who have already lost money.

2. Contact the financial provider through an official channel

If you paid or shared banking/card details, contact your bank, card issuer, payment app, money-transfer provider or crypto platform immediately using a number from its official website, app, statement or card. Ask what protective steps or recovery options may be available. Recovery is not guaranteed.

3. Secure accounts and devices

Change compromised passwords and any password reused elsewhere through official sites. Enable multi-factor authentication. If remote-access software was installed or a device may be compromised, disconnect it from the internet where safe, update security software and seek trusted technical help.

4. Preserve evidence and use official reporting routes

Keep messages, screenshots, URLs, phone numbers, receipts, transaction IDs, wallet addresses and a timeline. Use Scams by Country to find relevant official reporting and support resources. Call local emergency services if there is immediate danger.
